Back to School?!?

Is it August already? It’s is hard to believe the summer is winding down, but here we are! This back-to-school season may not feel like the typical season ripe with excitement and the thrill of the new school year. However, it still does require us to plan, get organized, and jump in! Weather your child is going to school, doing virtual learning, or you are homeschooling, Here are a couple tips to help jump-start your planning:

~Invest in a functional planner for the family. Keeping track of everyone’s schedule is always tricky and now with virtual learning, homeschooling, and/or working from home, it is even more complicated. Do you plan on your phone calendar? Try going back to paper and pen and see if this strategy helps you visualize your month, weeks, and days more effectively. However you plan, find the strategy that work best for you.

~Decide what you are going to do next year in terms of schooling. Will you home-school? Will you try the virtual program option? Will you send your child to school? Have a family meeting, weigh your options, discuss your family health risk situation, talk to the school officials to understand their risk assessment and health and safety plan for re-opening. Make sure you are satisfied with all of the answers you receive to your questions. Once you have all of this information, make the decision. This will free up head space and you can start planning.

~Start organizing work spaces. When the pandemic hit, we all were forced to get creative and find spaces to work and learn in our homes. Take this time to organize these work/learn spaces so that you have everything you and your child(ren) need to do your best work. Check out ideas on pinterest and scroll through craigslist, offerup, and nextdoor for deals on office furniture. Also keep your eyes out for back to school sales at your favorite stores to stock up on supplies!

~Contact an Educational Consultant. If you are feeling overwhelmed by the start of this school year, you can get support today. Your first consultation is free!!! We can discuss your situation and brainstorm potential options for your family. Like and follow our Instagram and Facebook for more tips and information.
